Unlike our competitors, We do not offer a standard window tint that carries a 2-3 year warranty and is known for fading, purpling, bubbling or peeling off your windows. Our “Standard” Window film carries a limited lifetime warranty and our CIR Ceramic carries an Unlimited lifetime warranty. On top of that, We offer our own lifetime guarantee on the tint installation labor. So unless you physically damage your window tint, It is covered under a Limelight Lifetime Warranty.

Choosing a Shade/Darkness of Your Tint

Regardless of which quality film you choose here at Limelight, You also have a choice of 6 Different “Shades” or “Darknesses.” These Shades are measured in VLT (Visual Light Transmission) Which refers to the amount of light allowed through a piece of glass. We carry 5, 20, 30,35,50 and 80% Window tint shades in stock, 5% being the darkest (Commonly referred to as “Limo” Tint) and 80% being our lightest (and only legal option). When Choosing a window tint shade, We recommend doing so when you come down for your tint appointment so you can talk with a sales professional and compare the differences in person. Unlike many of our local competitors, We do NOT Charge extra for our darker shades of tint, so the price you are given covers any shade you choose. NY State Legality for Window Tint

NY State Law for window tint basically states that if you drive a Truck or SUV, You are not allowed to tint your windows below 70% VLT (Light allowed through the window). On a Sedan or Coupe, you are not allowed to tint ALL side windows below 70% VLT. Most vehicles factory “untinted” windows test between 74-76% VLT, Not 100% Clear. This is because this is safety glass that contains a layer of lexan. Our only legal window tint option for the windows stated is 80% Ceramic which will supply an exceptional Heat and UV Protection without darkening the windows to any noticeable level. All other windows (rear half of a Truck or SUV and rear window of a Coupe or Sedan) are allowed to be tinted as dark as you choose, down to 0%.
